Registry Hacks Through Internet Explorer
Did you know that the registry is one of the most common targets and malicious software will attack through Internet Explorer? Once these malicious programs gain access to your registry they can do whatever they want – from planting Spyware to watch your moves to leaving your PC unbootable. Thankfully there are a few things you can do in Internet Explorer to keep your PC safer.
The first line of defense needs to be is to make sure your internet explorer security is set high enough to protect your computer. Here’s a few changes that will help make your computer secure.
Open Internet Explorer, then go to tools – internet options – click security tab. Start by making sure that the internet zone is selected, click default, and then slide the slider to medium. Now you need to make a few changes to make sure you are totally safe. Click the custom level button and then scroll down to the navigate sub-frames and set to prompt.
Now click the advanced tab, scroll down to “enable install on demand,” and make sure that it is unchecked. You also need to disable remote registry access to prevent malicious users from gaining access to your PC.
Next click on the advanced tab and scroll down towards the bottom of the list where you’ll find disable remote registry access. You need to right mouse button click and disable it. This will prevent malicious users who have managed to access an administrator account from changing the registry from a remote location.
By default, there are some reg files that automatically open and they contain information about your registry. That means a malicious reg file on a website or email attachment could gain access to your registry if you accidentally allow them. To make sure this doesn’t happen you can remove the direct association between your registry and the reg file type. Got to start – control panel – appearances and themes – folder options – click file types tab and then scroll down to the reg entry – highlight and click change and then associate it to notepad.
Internet Explorer is like a broken window that the bad guy can get in but by making a few simple security changes you can ensure that your registry remains safely out of the reach of hacks.
Keep Your Identity Safe And Erase Your Internet Explorer Traces
In today’s high tech world everything seems to be only a keystroke away. Sadly this is very appealing to the criminal element. Each time you use your computer you leave files open for taking by a hacker. It’s time for you to learn how to erase your Internet Explorer traces by using software such as registry repair software.
The files you use every day often contain personal and confidential information, which is why it is so important to learn how you can thoroughly remove this data from your computer. An Internet Explorer trace washer will erase all traces of your internet activity so that there is simply nothing left for a hacker to grab and then follow it up with registry repair software to make sure your registry is also clean.
Every time you go out to the net digital packets are created, that are transferred back and forth between your computer and the net. These files contain all kinds of information. In fact, you could think of them as the bricks that build the path to who you are and what you do – in other words it’s the road that leads to your privacy. What you want to do is erect a barrier so that your information can’t be traced, and so that you erase your internet traces.
Internet Explorer and other browsers do a fantastic job of tracking our history, so do programs like , AOL, MSN Messenger, Microsoft Office, and even programs like Windows Media Player. The problem is that those historical files are vulnerable to hackers and so you shouldn’t keep them no matter how handy they might be. To be safe you need to erase them.
With the right software, every keystroke you make can be recorded. Now think about that for a minute. It’s really a rather scary idea. It’s been compared to the electronic version of stocking. Another reason why you need to erase your internet traces.
The world we live in today is rather amazing because never before have we had the freedom that technology has brought us. But that freedom also comes with a price, a cost that can completely destroy you if you don’t take precautions to make sure that you remove everything from your computer that could put your personal information at risk.
Big companies spend millions erasing trace packets from their hardware, but as individuals we don’t have those large budgets to spend on software. Thankfully, for under $50 there are some excellent programs on the market that will give you peace of mind that your computer has been swept clean.
Now that you know how to erase your internet traces are you ready to hire your own private registry repair software to look out for you and your PC?
